The Project

Why do we do it?

Many young people from rural areas feel lonely, insecure about their future or disconnected from the life of the area where they live.

My Rural Mentor wants to improve their well-being, help them feel more rooted in the area and promote equality, inclusion and diversity.

Where does it take place?

In Valdeorras (Galicia, Spain), Póvoa de Varzim (Portugal) and the provinces of Agrigento and Trapani (Sicily, Italy). We will connect the young participants with trusted adults who can offer them support and help them expand their network.

We will provide training in mentoring and organise activities in which the whole community can take part.

The aim is simple: better relationships, stronger communities, healthier futures.

Who is it for?

For young people aged between 14 and 24 who live in these areas and have a particular need to connect with others and expand their support networks. At My Rural Mentor, they will find a closer-knit and more supportive community —an ecosystem built in collaboration with schools, institutions and associations in the region.
